Tom Allen has always been a fighter for working men and women, and he supports the rights of workers to organize through a secret ballot or majority sign up.  The simple truth is this: the legislation that Tom supported gives workers an additional way to sign-up for a union, but it does not take away their right to a secret ballot.

As I am sure you know, Tom Allen has made a public call for all television and radio communication from third party groups to be positive.  Negative, personal attacks have no place in this campaign, and Maine people deserve better – especially when the stakes in this election are so high.

Tom has repeatedly called on Senator Collins to join him in publicly asking third party groups to stay positive, but she has refused to do so.  Meanwhile, she will not denounce her allies for running these smear ads against Tom.  With so much on the line in this election, we ought to be talking about addressing skyrocketing energy costs, ending the war in Iraq, and providing every American with health insurance.
